Alberta Fire and Security is pleased to announce the appointment of Ing. Andrew Vella Zarb as Chief Operating Officer. With over 17 years of leadership experience in complex technical operations and project management, Ing. Vella Zarb brings extensive expertise in strategic leadership, operational excellence, and organisational transformation to this role.
Prior to joining Alberta Fire and Security, Ing. Vella Zarb served as Chief Projects Officer and Deputy CEO at the Foundation for Medical Services in Malta, where he successfully managed a technical team of 75 professionals and oversaw important projects. His proven track record includes implementing robust governance frameworks, developing strategic risk management systems, and driving operational efficiency through innovative process improvements.
Andrew’s multidisciplinary leadership experience and strong background in technical operations will drive our next phase of growth. His expertise in project management, risk mitigation, and operational excellence will be invaluable as we continue to expand our services and strengthen our market position.
Ing. Vella Zarb holds a Master of Business Administration from the London School of Business and Finance and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) from the University of Malta. He is also a certified Prince2 Practitioner and has extensive training in lean methodologies and operational excellence.
Andrew’s robust background, particularly his experience in the highly regulated pharmaceutical industry, makes him an ideal choice to lead our operational strategy.
