Fire, security and fire escape doors – are you putting lives at risk?
Fire doors are safety devices engineered to save lives and property in the event of a fire. Correct specification, installation and maintenance will ensure fire resistance capabilities and save lives. Conversely, if a fire door fails, it will seriously compromise safety and cost much more in the long run. Third-party certification will give multiple layers of protection to ensure that the fire door will withstand fires if a fire breaks out.
In a fire, seconds count. The slower the spread, the better the chance to save lives. Safety and fire protection is too important to be left to chance. Fire doors are paramount to hold back flames and smoke if a fire breaks out. Their installation is as critical as their specification. Failing to assure and certify their performance and their safety by a third party certification body might compromise the protection of the occupants or the building.
