“The humanity we all share is more important than the mental illnesses we may not”
Elyn R. Saks
At Alberta, we believe it is important to take care of both our physical and mental health.
We are continuously striving to raise awareness for the well-being of our team – our strongest asset.
Over recent months, we have collaborated with Richmond Foundation – Malta to offer free psychological therapy to all the team, to support them in managing any situation that might be causing them difficulty, and assist with any emotional distress before it develops further. The aim is to reduce stressors and provide a working environment that promotes positive mental well-being.
Moreover, we have recently followed New Zealand’s steps and implemented an extra type of special leave for parents who are battling the trauma of a miscarriage or stillbirth. As we recognise the distress that such an experience may cause for both parents, we understand that an adequate amount of time should be allowed for recovery. This follows additional days of special leave that the Company already offers, over and above local employment legislation as well as free health insurance for all the team.
We promise to proactively continue to implement positive well-being initiatives which are supportive of our culture and people, and we encourage other organisations to do the same.
